What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Look up. You see so much more of the world.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The people, the challenge, the variety, and being part of a team making a difference.
Who is your favourite leader, and why?
Mark Zuckerberg. He has literally changed the world we live in and done so with vision, belief and passion. He empowers his team, and allows them to thrive, and is building partnerships to improve the lives of people globally. And remains true to the person he is – grounded and family focussed.
What is your favourite business book, and why?
Model T Leadership by Andy Kelly. It's a very simple model which recognises that the vertical of the T is our technical comfort zone where we want to focus our time and efforts, managing the activity around us. Leadership is spent at the top of the T, where we think about the business, provoke change and engage people. Leaders in the vertical are a mile deep but they also need to operate effectively at the top of the T and be a mile wide.
What tune do you sing in the shower?
The theme tune of my wee girl’s latest program of choice. Currently Dora the Explorer. Vamonos!
What would you invent?
A teleporter so I could see more of my friends and family around the world.
