CalMac is the UK's largest ferry operator, running 29 routes to over 50 destinations, across 200 miles of Scotland's west coast. Their fleet of 33 vessels complete approximately 136,000 sailings a year and employs 1,700 people, including 200 at their Gourock headquarters. CalMac provides an everyday lifeline service to west coast communities, and play a critical role in enabling the development of the tourist industry, which is hugely important for the area's economy. CalMac are highly committed to excellent customer service and invest continuously in the development of their people.
What we did:
The Leadership Factory have worked closely with CalMac since 2018 to develop and deliver their Leadership Academy. Our support to CalMac includes:
- Working with the internal L&D team designing & delivering leadership development to over 300 participants
- Designing customized learning programmes to meet the unique challenges that CalMac manages
- Providing facilitated workshops, based on the Mindshift programme incorporating Action Learning & team coaching principles
- Providing all participants with 1-2-1 executive coaching
- Offering customized 360 feedback to 30 senior leaders
- Have a dedicated online branded portal to support all learning
